***I don't look back - Unless there's a good view***

Well it's been a while since I blogged but I can safely say I have been totally rushed off my feet, or finger tips seeing as I type and not run. Anyway, I blog with news. In fact there's so much going on, I really do need to share it before I burst.

Firstly, let me start with a thank you to all those that downloaded April's Busman Holiday (Maxwell Mysteries #1). I hope you enjoyed reading it and I thank those who have taken the time to review it. It has gained five 5 shiny gold star reviews so far and I couldn't be happier.

If you have read it and enjoyed it and don't mind taking a minute to review on Amazon, I would very much appreciate it. Also... to those that don't have a Kindle or Kindle app, you'll be pleased to know, it will soon be available in paperback. My first ever paperback might I add. The proof copy has just arrived and I love it. I'm so excited. They will be available to purchase from Amazon but I will also be doing my own order so you will be able to order a signed copy direct from me. More details on this once I have been through the proof copy and approved it.

In the meantime, you can still download an eCopy from Amazon for your Kindle or Kindle App on the following links for just £1.99/$3.34 ~

Amazon.co.uk
Amazon.com

Also available on all other Amazon sites around the world.

So book 2.... How to catch a Jewel Thief is complete. This picks up on the same day book 1 ends and is packed with more funnies, mysteries and mishaps by our lovable detective April. I will soon be sending it to stage two of editing and ordering a proof copy and should be available later on this year.

Why the delay? Well I have other things in the pipeline that I would like to be getting on with but it's complete so that's the main thing. For now, I will leave you with the gorgeous cover, designed by my very own mum and the freshly squeezed blurb.

As the sun sets across London, DI April Maxwell arrives back from three week’s leave but she’s barely through her front door when she receives a phone call to say a top notch jewellers has been robbed in Piccadilly.

Abounding her unpacking because there’s always tomorrow, April jumps back in her car and races across London to where she is needed. Before she knows it, she finds herself knee deep in another case and the closest she thinks she gets to solving it, the further away she becomes.

With a forever thickening plot and too many suspects to get her head around, April finds herself distracted by a sexy fireman, a stalking cat and who the hell keeps parking in her space outside her flat? There’s only so much April can take but not before she catches a jewel thief.

Accents and British spelling are used for this book.

Other work...

Cocktails & Tattoos series... anyone remember that series? Surely you couldn't forget the blue mouthed Harley-May and her sexy doctor husband Spike?

I'm just about to embark on a revamp of the whole series with new covers in the run up for the 5th book in the series Birthday Cake & Sandy Beaches. You never know, paperbacks may be coming your way too!

The new covers are absolutely stunning and I can't wait to show you them. I will be holding a reveal very soon!

I did plan on publishing Birthday Cake this May but then I got to meet April and she took over my life. Do not fear though, Harley and Spike fans... they will be back this summer and I'm sure they will not disappoint. I will leave you with the blurb in case you missed it.

Blurb

Harley and Spike are back for a fifth book in the Cocktails & Tattoos series.

Spike is turning forty and what better way to celebrate then taking all the family off to Bora Bora for a fortnight. It sounds like the perfect plan but of course, whilst the location is every bit perfect, it’s going to be anything but, as trust is broken, tempers fly, secrets are revealed and family bonds destroyed. They are sure to be in for one hell of a fortnight and will there be any going back for Harley or has she burnt her bridges forever.

Christmas novel... well that just seems a bit silly to be talking about now, doesn't it? I mean, I've tried writing a Christmas novel in the summer and it just doesn't feel write when the weather outside is glorious and I'm writing about snow, Christmas trees and bubbles. It's like you have to have the whole Christmas atmosphere to write it in but then you'd be waiting years for my first completed Christmas novel if that was the case so I must bite the bullet and let that be next on the agenda (behind Birthday Cake of course).

So, I have three Christmas novels that I have made a dent in. Now it's a case of which one I go with and complete in time for this year's yule tide. Don't worry, I will put a Christmas movie on just to get me in the mood and of course, it will be funny, entertaining and contain lots of mishaps so keep your eyes peeled for that.

I also may chuck a novel out there that I wrote a while ago. It's something different and not written like my others. It does need editing and it depends on my mood but you never know. It's worth a try and I think you might like it.

Remember you can keep up-to-date with my work via Facebook Kerry Frith Author Page if you don't want to wait for another blog post and you can find all my books available for download from Amazon and Amazon Author Central.

**The Running Game (Reachers) Review**

Three words to sum up The Running Game (Reachers) by L E Fitzpatrick ~

Fast-paced, thrilling & imaginative

The Running Game (Reachers)

This book, the first in the Reachers is set in London but not as we know it. It's somewhere in the future although it doesn't say how far but it's plausible and I can completely visualise it in my mind's eye. It reminds me of the 1984 Robocop set in 2028 where it's almost derelict, crime is high, even the cops are crooked and everyone's out for themselves.

Then there's the Reachers. People with mind powers that are quickly becoming rare. The priest is convinced they are God's angels sent to protect.

Rachel Aaron is a Reacher. At a young age, her father taught her the running game. Count the exits, calculate the routes and always be ready to run because they will always be coming for you. For seven years she tried her best to blend in. Working as a doctor in London, now known as Safe Haven (S'aven) and dating a cop but her time is up. They are coming for her and she needs to run.

The infamous Smith brothers, Charlie and John are also Reachers. They are criminals and have a reputation of getting the job done. They have been hired to track down Rachel and take her to Pinky Morris, a not so nice gangster. It seems like a straight forward job. The Smith brothers certainly need the money. Charlie is in a bad way following the tragic death of his wife and John is fighting his own demons but they need to find Charlie's daughter. This job will provide them with some money that will help them do that.

Then they find out Rachel is a Reacher, which changes everything. They can't give up another Reacher. There's a strict code to protect your own and the brothers abide by it. Instinct kicks in and they make it their mission to protect her and get her out of S'aven to safety but not before getting what they are owed. A so-called old friend, Roxy, with a hidden agenda of his own, offers to help. John doesn't trust him as far as he can throw him. Rachel feels the same but Charlie doesn't listen and let's Roxy in.

So, Charlie draws up the plan, John takes care of the muscle men, Rachel uses her mind powers to get them in and Roxy cracks the safe. Roxy tells Charlie he doesn't want any money. Use his share to find his daughter. The plan goes well until someone walks into the office. John steps up to take care of it and tells Roxy to take Rachel out to Charlie waiting in the car except Roxy doesn't. He has his own revenge planned and if it means handing Rachel over to Pinky Morris so be it.

Pinky Morris wants to know who killed his brother Frank. If he just had a Reacher then he'd be able to find out. He needed Rachel. Pinky's wife Riva gets Rachel because she will make everything right again and takes her to their house. All is revealed but it doesn't matter. Frank is still dead and soon Rachel will be too. The Smith brothers must step up and save Rachel.

My review

I'm not a paranormal reader although I don't know why because I enjoy paranormal films but L E Fitzpatrick hosted an event for me and when I read the blurb to this book, I thought, it sounds really good, I'm going to give it a try so I took the plunge and popped my paranormal cherry. I am so glad I did.

This is a whodunit with a BIG difference. The imagination to create this whole new world where Reachers exist is quite amazing. L E Fitzpatrick had me believing this was real. The characters leaped out at me and had me hooked from the first page. I read this in 24 hours because I just couldn't put it down in case I missed something.

I really liked Rachel. She's a strong woman who can take care of herself but she's sick of running. From one kiss she can learn everything there is to know about a person and she can control things with her mind. She's funny and clever and had managed to stay off the radar for seven years. I know I wouldn't mind her powers. I felt sorry for her boyfriend cop Mark. He was one of the good guys but it seemed everyone took him for a ride especially his horrid partner Gary.

Charlie. What wasn't there to like about Charlie? He's loyal, he loves his brother and he has been through the mill but he's a good person who just wants to make things right. His Reacher powers are quite similar to Rachel's although he can't read minds. As for John, I think I'm in love. A man made of steel who can take down an army of men without breaking a sweat. He carries a lot of guilt who trusts no one and doesn't smile often but as Rachel offers up her charm, she slowly scratches the surface of the real man he is. I'm not sure what kind of Reacher he is. It never said. Apart from being strong and powerful and quick and light on his feet, he doesn't seem to hold any mind powers. When Rachel touched him she didn't get the same Reacher connection she got from Charlie.

It was kind of hard not to like Roxy. He had charm, a good sense of humor and I think he generally meant well but he had his own problems to deal with and he had to do what he had to do. He was far from loyal and couldn't be trusted. Pinky Morris, what a vulgar man and I am glad he got what he deserved. I didn't mind his wife Riva. She only ever looked out for husband but got no thanks in return. Gary just made my skin crawl and Donnie was just plain mad.

This book was fast-paced and action packed. I did not want it to end. I would love to see this in film. That would be excellent. Now, all I want to know is... when can I read the next one?! The end of the book, it gives you a slight insight into what happened to Mark. I want to know what comes next for the Reachers, Rachel, Charlie and John. What kind of Reacher is John and do they find Lilly?

I highly recommend The Running Game (Reachers) and I award it 5 shiny gold stars. Well done L E Fitzpatrick. I totally love your ability to bring this paranormal story to life.

Only one day to go...

Almost showtime!!

I am so excited. I don't know where to begin. Well I am excited and nervous all rolled into one. It doesn't matter how many books you publish, the feeling never goes away! I have gone over the book so many times I have lost count but I know if I went over it now, I would still find mistakes. The joys of being a poor indie author. It could be me being picky but I don't want bad reviews for spelling mistakes or grammar errors. I want people to enjoy reading my new book as much as I loved writing it. I had so much fun and I'm already a quarter of the way through the second book, the title I will reveal during tomorrow's event with a third and fourth book in mind. Providing you like the first of course because it would be pointless me carrying on with it, if no one enjoys reading it but I'm sure you will. I hope you will.

April is fun, funny and so down to earth. It's hard not to love her, just for her sense of humor and way of thinking. I don't think I could ever get bored of her and it's been brilliant writing mysteries. This is my first and I think I've done a good job. It certainly gets my brain rattling and I find myself googling all kinds of strange things. God knows what people would think if they checked my browsing history.

Unfortunately, I cancelled the blog tour for my own personal reasons. I just felt it wasn't the right time for me. I might hold one later in the summer or when I bring out book 2. There's still the event to look forward to and what fun that's going to be!

I have some cracking prizes up for grabs ~

I will also include Kindle copies of my first published book ~ Cocktails & Tattoos and my stand alone book Handbags at Dawn. You could win a signed postcard of April's Busman Holiday book cover too.

Of course the main prize will be a Kindle copy of the book itself ~ April's Busman Holiday and not forgetting, the ongoing poll on the event... who invited you? Vote now. Invite your friends and ask them to vote for you. You could win a £5 Amazon gift card.

PLUS.... yes there is more. I have a fantastic guest host line up who will be donating eBooks of their own for you to win. I can't thank these fab authors enough for agreeing to take part and being so generous. The time schedule and line up is ~

2pm ~ I will kick off the event
6pm ~ I will pop back in
9pm ~ Then you will have me until the end

You can join the event here ~ https://www.facebook.com/events/280481565441296/

We will play games, hold contests and have so much fun. You will be able to ask me anything, we can have a chat, discuss life, eat some chocolate seeing as it's Easter and indulge in a few beverages. I will leave you with some teasers and hopefully I will see you at the event tomorrow.

Have a great Easter everyone!

**Blog Tour - The Edge of Hope (Bad Blood I) by Alina Popescu**

Welcome to the blog tour ~ The Edge of Hope (Bad Blood I) by the fantastic Alina Popescu

It is my total honor to host a blog stop for Alina. I met Alina through Facebook and I can't stress enough what a wonderful supportive and positive person she really is. I am so excited for her and I cannot wait to read this book. The Edge of Hope is her debut novel, the first book in the Bad Blood Trilogy. It's a story of vampires, love, struggles, and a constant fight for survival.

Edge of Hope (Bad Blood I)

When tall, dark, and gorgeous shows up on your self-prescribed emotional recovery vacation, some would call it fate smiling down on you. If he also happens to be interested in your work and ready to make all the room you need in his life, it starts to sound too good to be true. Alexa skips the doubts and jumps right in, only to be thrown into the mysterious world of vampires.

The secrets of their origin and their very existence are far more important than her life to some of her new acquaintances. They are ancient, they are powerful, they have unlimited resources, and they are keen on controlling what the world knows of their kind. As Alexa discovers their complicated, blood feud bound world, she tries to better understand herself, heal old wounds and give love chance after chance. Will she survive the journey?

**Reviews**

*****Stars ~ Fast paced, well written. Can't wait for Book II

I was one of the lucky people to have received an ARC, hence my early review. After reading the ARC, I couldn't wait to get my hands on the book as well, as it is definitely worth it.

The book follows Alexa, a Romanian girl cheated by her ex with her best friend (or, as you can imagine, her now ex-best friend), who has taken a well-deserved holiday away from everything and to focus on her novel about vampires. It's here that she meets tall, dark-haired, gorgeous Anthony, who seems interested in more than just her work. Despite all the alarm bells going off in her head, she decides to ignore them. Thus, she finds herself dragged in the world of vampires, powerful creatures who will stop at nothing in order to prevent their secret being revealed.

What I loved most about this book? Apart from being really fast-paced (which means there's never a dull moment), the dialogues are quite savoury, it really made me chuckle and even laugh out loud at moments. The story has everything: romance, suspense, mystery, blood. Oh, and a cliff-hanger at the end, but it will only make you read book II more.

*****Stars ~ Loved it, loved it, loved it

I don't know where to start this book was absolutely brilliant it definitely deserves 5 stars i am giving it. It got me gripped from the 1st chapter it pulled me in i loved it loved it did i said i loved it ? i loved Alexa she is so down to earth you can relate to her way of thinking and strong minded and Louis is .......... Well i don't know where to start tall sexy handsome intense ? & you have to have a bad guy to mix it up But this book is so much more the authors personality shines though in every step on the book great book I would highly recommend it to any one and i will cant wait for more just hope we don't have to wait long for book 2

**Lust or Love Review**

Lust or Love Part 1: The Beginning by H Barlow.

Earlier on in the week, I was lucky enough to take part in the Lust or Love Blog Tour where I got to interview the wonderful H Barlow. It's always good to get into the mind of other authors and find out what makes them tick. It also got me wanting to read Lust or Love!

In Brief ~

Lust or Love is a three part series which follows Heather and Kian and their lust or love for each other. Part 1 the beginning sends us back six years to when Heather and Kian met and Heather's struggle of being a young single mother whilst living with her parents and working in a night club.

The Blurb ~

LUST OR LOVE IS ONLY FOR ADULTS 18 + WHO ARE NOT EASILY OFFENDED BY SOME SWEARING AND SOME SEXUAL CONTENT.

Lust or love is set in South Yorkshire, town Doncaster, UK .The speech and thoughts of the characters is set in the south Yorkshire accent and Doncaster's pronunciation of words.

Lust or Love is the first in a 3 part series.

What do you do when the one who is very wrong for you keeps coming back into your life? Single mum Heather is turning 30 and evaluating her life. Set in 2011 in a small town in Yorkshire England. Look back into Heather's past and follow her to the present. Heather has for 6 years been torn between her feelings for the destructive Kian and the harsh truth that they probably wont ever be together. Over 6 years life has took them both in different directions, however Heather can never seem to get Kian out of her mind and sometimes at the most unexpected points in her life Kian always seems to reappear. If it isn't really love then is the lust worth the pain of the heartache and can Heather ever let Kian go for good.

My Review ~

From the second I started reading this book, Hayley had me hooked. She reeled me in and kept me there. I did not want to put the book down. I was totally addicted and wanted to know what happened next. I had it finished in no time, one because I needed to know what happened next and two because it is a fairly short quick read.

When I started reading it, I wasn't sure what to expect but it wasn't what I got. It's wrote in an easy to read way, which kept it light and very entertaining. It was very different to what I have previously read and this is a good thing. It's what makes it stand out. I hate the fact that I now have to wait to find out what happens next but it also gives me something to look forward to. I will definitely have my finger at the ready to download part 2 BUT when will that be?

If you'd like to read something a little different that will leave you wanting more, then I recommend you download this author's debut novel.

***It Had To Be You Review***

Lynda Renham has only gone and bloody done it again! Croissants & Jam was my favourite by this talented author but now I think I may have a new one... It Had To Be You is wonderfully predictable that leaves you all warm and fuzzy!

In Brief  ~

Binki's Christmas doesn't go quite to plan. She imagined her wonderful boyfriend Oliver proposing to her over the Christmas Turkey so then she could spend the new year organising the wedding of the year. Instead she finds herself propositioned by her boss's Christmas bonus and unfortunately it doesn't involve money. Her Christmas Eve goes from bad to worse when a traffic warden that has less Christmas spirit then her issues her faithful KA with a parking ticket, a not very nice Christmas tree stabs her in the eye and worse still, ends with finding said wonderful boyfriend drunkenly humping his boss in their bed!

My Review ~

This book will surely have you smile and occasionally giggle as Binki starts to rebuild her life. The new year looks promising when she inherits her auntie's beautiful house but there's just one problem ~ it already has a resident and it turns out her aunt left it to them both! A new house, a new job, even it isn't her preferred choice and new best friend has Binki all in a spin and sparks starts to fly!

Binki is such a likeable character and I share her passion for m&m's and the chocolate teapot. In fact I am investing in one! William is an absolute gem. A true gentleman, good looking with a sense of humour and loaded to boot. Lynda had me questioning would they, won't they and screaming no not Oliver! I really wasn't disappointed so thank you Lynda for another fabulous read. I cannot wait for the next one...

If you would like to read it, here's the blurb and links. Enjoy!

Blurb ~

When 29-year-old Binki Grayson is offered Christmas bonus by her boss at the office party she didn't imagine he meant a quickie over his desk. Things for Binki just go from bad to worse and by Christmas Day she is not only jobless but boyfriend-less, so when she discovers her late Aunt Vera has left her something in her will she thinks things can only get better. What she doesn't realise is that her inheritance comes with a complication by the name of William Ellis.

A mishmash of misunderstandings, sex-shop escapades, high finance and a blooming romance make It Had to Be You another hilarious romantic comedy by the uproarious Lynda Renham.

***Lust Or Love Blog Tour***

Welcome to Lust or Love Blog Tour by the wonderful H. Barlow.

It's my pleasure to be part of this blog tour and to help promote H. Barlow's debut novel Lust or Love part 1 ~ The Beginning. As part of the blog tour, I got to interview the wonderful author herself, Hayley Barlow.

If it isn't really love then is the lust worth the pain of the heartache and can Heather ever let Kian go for good.

Hello Hayley and welcome to my blog. It's great to have you here and be apart of this blog tour. Right, let's get started...

When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?

I used to love to write when I was in high school. When I was around 14 I think that I really got into my English work, writing story’s and reports for class. After I left school I never had the confidence to take it any further, work and life took over until I was 31. I decided to make some live changes and do things that I love to do and writing again was one of them.

How long does it take you to write a book?

Lust or love is my first novel and took over a year to write . It was going to be a stand alone until few months ago I decided that  there was more that  could be added to the book, I decided  it could split it into three parts and I'm still working on changing parts two and three.

What is your work schedule like when you're writing?

Hectic it is hard to stick to a schedule, I am still learning to do that one.

What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?

I would hope that my characters are ever day people that can be easily related two, also my south Yorkshire accent is in there as my home Doncaster is were my book and characters are from.

How do you plan to publish? (self or publisher)

I have been signed by a small publishing company Nocturnal Press Publications.

Where do you get your information or ideas for your books?

Slightly from my own experience’s, honestly I have had some rubbish relationship’s and I'm still single now. I know what it’s like to be a single mum and I can relate in some ways with Heather.

When did you write your first book and how old were you?

Lust or love is my first book and I was 31 when I started the story.

What do you like to do when you're not writing?

Other then spending quality time with my daughter, family and friends, I enjoy my job as a self employed massage and holistic therapist, and I enjoy curling up with a good book.

What does your family think of your writing?

Friends have read the book and love it my family support me in anything they do but cant read it purely because of the sexual content ,my sister said she wouldn't be able to determine Its just a character.

What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?

The massive support system that I have gained just on Facebook by opening my own page and being in many book groups there has been a lot of Inspirational people supporting me from the very start of me writing the story.

How many books have you written? Which is your favourite?

Lust or love is only one so far However by turning it into a three part series I think just love lust or love Part 2 is going to be my Favourite.

Do you have any suggestions to help me become a better writer? If so, what are they?

I would always say to anybody who wants to write to do it or if you real that you are  in a slump don’t give up keep on  going, don’t ever think you can’t do anything  because you can, follow your dreams not anybody else’s.

Do you hear from your readers much? What kinds of things do they say?

I do from a few which most have said that the characters are easy to relate to,that the story flows well,I know some have had a bit of difficulty with the Doncaster slang but for some they have not been but of by it as they story is really good and they can not wait till part 2.

Do you like to create books for adults?

I really do enjoy writing, it doesn't all have to be just about the sex but it is fun to fit it into a story and I like that now in this day of age that writers can to do so.

What do you think makes a good story?

For me as I like to read anything, the characters have got to be easy to relate to and to like (even if I  love to hate them) . The story has to grip me and helps if I feel a mix of emotions from start to the end of any story.

As a child, what did you want to do when you grew up?

I wanted to be a teacher, then in my teens I wanted to be a writer then late teens to early adult hood I wanted to own my own bar. Now I love being a mum I would to own my own holistic salon and to keep on writing.

Thank you so much for joining me today Hayley! You can contact Hayley on the following link ~
