#14

Howdy hey, it’s Friday. This week has gone quick. I swear the weeks are going quicker, which means it will soon be Christmas and that is just one scary ass thought. So how has everyone’s week been? Mine has been hot, inspirational and creative. I feel like I have accomplished a lot in the world of being an author this week. Want to hear more? I was hoping you would….

On Wednesday I finally announced a release date for Handbags at Dawn. It’s a bit later then expected but I just didn’t have enough time to get the whole self-promo up and running before I go on holiday so I have put the date back for when I return from holiday. I am both excited and nervous about the publication of Handbags of Dawn. It’s my first standalone book since the Cocktails & Tattoos series and I just hope my fans will enjoy reading something different from me. I enjoyed writing it. You can finally meet unlucky in love author, Cali Williams on Friday 9th August. It should be available from Amazon and other good eBook websites. I have set up an online release party to help with the promo. If you are interested in joining me, please click on the following link. https://www.facebook.com/events/528376947210574/

Birthday Cake & Sandy Beaches is coming along nicely. I have just reached chapter four. I am taking my time with it but I love being back in the Harley, Spike, Emma and Lewis circle. It’s like hanging out with old friends. This one will be longer then the others and based over just two weeks but a lot can happen in two weeks let me tell you. If you have Harley as a friend on FB, you may have already had a little insight into the new book!

I was zapped by another idea for maybe a short story or perhaps a full length. I’m not quite sure but the idea came to me one morning when I saw my neighbour. It’s not based on my neighbour at all but an idea came from it. I have so many ideas, it’s getting them all down I have the problem with. I am a one woman story I’m afraid. I am constantly jotting down plots, ideas, characters but I can’t flutter from writing one story to another, at the same time. I would end up totally confused and the characters from one book would end up in the other.

A Thousand Live Reviews approached me and offered an author interview. This is my second interview as an author and I absolutely loved it. I can never get bored of talking about myself ha ha ha It’s an amazing feeling that people are actually interested in finding out more about me and learning about my work. I still have to pinch myself. I am truly thankful.

As well as the above, this week I have also learnt about ancient Greece for my nine year’s old school project. I never knew any of it. Shocking. I don’t remember learning about it when I was at school. I find as a parent I tend to learn more then I did when I was at school. I don’t know if it’s because I take more in now or I just have a lousy memory. It’s probably the latter. My memory is bad. I have to write notes otherwise I forget. Yesterday and today the kids had to dress up for school curriculum day. Parents got to pop into school and see a little show then take a look at the things the kids have been learning about. My eight year old dressed as a princess, the nine year old was a Sparta solider and the ten year old a tiger. They all looked good as so did all the kids that made the effort. There were several where’s Wally’s which made me chuckle.

My LMFAO birthday bash was brilliant. Everyone looked fantastic and we had from people dressed as animals to men dressed as women and women dressed as old men. All very entertaining. There wasn’t a sober person in sight so my mission was accomplished. It was a good night and I thank everyone who attended.

This weekend I have an Ann Summers party. Naughty naughty. Those kind of parties are always good for a laugh. It’s a night out away from the kids and a chance to have a drink with friends. I’m looking forward to it.

I am still reading This Man and quite frankly struggling. I can’t get over how terribly written it is. I hate to slag off other author’s work because after all I have been on the receiving end and it isn’t nice but sometimes, just sometimes, it’s too much. It is full of typing errors, which to be fair I can overlook but it’s the long un structured sentences I have the problem with. I also don’t find the characters very likeable. I just can’t connect with them and like hell I’d have a man tell me what to do after the first time we had sex. It doesn’t seem realistic to me. I will finish it because I need to but I’m not entirely sure whether I will read anymore. I will see how I feel once I reach the end.  What I am excited about is reading Lindsey Kelk’s About a girl. I can’t wait. I purchased it yesterday after finding out it was published on the 4th July. I don’t know how I missed it. I have read all Lindsey’s books and I loved the I Heart series. This should be good.

There isn’t any author of the week this week because the author I had pencilled in, never got back to me and I didn’t have enough time to bring someone else’s slot forward. I still have free slots if anyone is interested. It doesn’t necessarily have to be author of the week. It can easily be changed to page of the week so whether you publish, editor, review, make, bake or create I would love to hear from you. I just need a little info from you such as bio, photo, book cover and other pictures, synopsis/teasers/quotes, release date info and/or purchase links and links to social pages/blog/websites. If you are interested, send me a message.

I would like to finish with the funeral of Fusilier Lee Rigby which was held today. I am sure you all remember the young soldier who was so brutally murdered back in May in South-east London. The prime minister and thousands of mourners attended his military funeral at Bury Parish Church in Greater Manchester. His two year old son wore a navy t-shirt with “my daddy my hero,” printed on the back. It was heart breaking. Life can be so unfair and I really do hope his killers get what they so rightly deserve. Their trial starts in November. My thoughts are with Lee’s son and family and may he rest in peace, never to be forgotten.

Until next time ~ Kerry.

Random fact #14 ~ If you yelled for over 8 and a half years, you would have produced enough sound energy to heat one cup of coffee. It doesn’t seem worth the effort does it?
