★•**•★Death at the Chocolate Factory★•**•★

Maxwell Mysteries #3

Who would want to kill one of the kings of chocolate? April can’t quite work it out. He was a well liked man, good husband, father, brother… he only wanted to retire and spend the rest of his days with his wife. What was so wrong with that?

It seems someone thought there was something wrong with that and decided to take action but who? No one was seen entering or leaving the chocolate factory and Ray Danbury was already dead before the first person was seen arriving. Everyone has alibis but they also have motive.

The case is confusing the hell out of April and there’s also the added extra of her new flatmate Duke, which isn’t going so well and whose idea was it to have DI Johnson stand-in while Briggs is away? Can DI Maxwell solve the case or will she have to walk away before she commits a crime of her own? She knows one thing for sure, her week couldn’t possibly get any worse.

☆★*¨*•.¸☆April's Busman Holiday☆¸.•*¨*★☆

Maxwell Mysteries #1

DI April Maxwell is like a dog with a bone especially when there’s a case to solve or a criminal to catch. She lives for her job and she’s bloody good at it so when she is forced to take leave she can’t think of anything worse. After the first day, she’s bored and it seems her one and only solution is to, well, actually take a holiday.

April packs a bag and heads to the New Forest to visit her family but when a boy band member turns up murdered, it isn’t long before she’s on the case. April makes it her mission to find out who killed Kai Williams whilst dealing with her over opinionated mother, a grieving teenage niece and gorgeous ex-boyfriend living next door.

As she closes in on the killer, the killer closes in on her and the rivalry between April and her perfect little brother heats up. It becomes survival of the fittest but there’s just one problem – April has never been very fit but she hasn’t let a thing beat her yet.

Here are 15 random facts about The Maxwell Mysteries that very well could help you!

1. I had never written a murder mystery before. April's Busman Holiday was my first and I loved it.

2. The main character, April is a 35 year old divorcee.

3. April is originally from Hampshire but now lives in East London where I am from.

4. My husband and I visited April’s home town of Fordingbridge in 2012 for our wedding anniversary.

5. April has an elder sister and a younger brother. She has been known to suffer from middle child syndrome.

6. April drives my dream car ~ an Audi.

7. I must say a lot of April’s personality is based on my own. It’s really hard to not include your own traits, thoughts and feelings into a character. It just comes naturally.

8. April is a workaholic and doesn’t have time for much else. She lives and breathes for her job.

9. April enjoys black coffee with no sugar.

10. April isn’t an animal person and she swears the cat next door is stalking her.

11. This is a series but I haven’t decided how many books will make up the series. I guess it’ll be when I run out of ideas, which to be fair, could be a long time. I am always bursting with ideas.

12. Not every book will be based on a murder. It’ll also include thieves, con men, and kidnappers.

13. This series isn’t a love story but it does include love interests. Whilst my previous work has had one hero, I’m going to enjoy creating a few different ones for April to sink her teeth into.

14. Book 1, April’s Busman Holiday only took a month to complete. Once I started it, it just came together without any effort. It practically wrote itself.

15. My mum designed the book covers.

Calling all Cocktails & Tattoos fans. It's finally complete. Two years in the making but book #5 in the Cocktails & Tattoos series is here. Well almost. This new novel is so crammed packed, it will leave you totally exhausted from Harley's antics. I'm sure you'll find it's been worth the wait.

Coming summer 2016.

Harley and Spike are back for a fifth book in the Cocktails & Tattoos series.

Spike is turning forty and what better way to celebrate then taking all the family off to Bora Bora for a fortnight. It sounds like the perfect plan but of course, whilst the location is every bit perfect, it's going to be anything but, as trust is broken, tempers fly, secrets are revealed and family bonds destroyed. They are sure to be in for one hell of a fortnight and will there be any going back for Harley or has she burnt her bridges forever.

The Cocktails & Tattoos books #1 to #4 can be downloaded from Amazon and books #1 and #2 are also available in paperback. This is a complete series and all books should be read in the following order ~

★•**•★ What's next? ★•**•★

Well as always I have so many things in the pipeline. There's book #3 in the Maxwell Mysteries to be getting on with as well as book #2 in Hattie's Adventures. I also fancy writing a stand alone romcom with some ideas in mind and I still need to make up my mind whether Birthday Cake & Sandy Beaches will be the last of Harley and Spike. I'm not sure whether I'm ready to put them to bed yet because I love hanging out with Harls.

Either way, there's still heaps to come from me and remember, when I'm quiet it means I'm busy writing! Also, more free summer reads coming your way so keep your eyes peeled.

Hattie Carter was in the wrong place at the wrong time. She witnessed something she shouldn’t have and it changed her life overnight.

Now it’s time for Hattie to move on except it's not that easy when she's receiving death threats. On the advice of the DCI in charge, she finds herself in the exquisite village of Castleford in Wiltshire where the cottages are cosy, the locals friendly and never mind the charming Lord Ethan Parks and local sexy but grumpy DI Joe Walsh. Hattie starts to think maybe it's not so bad after all.

There's no sirens, smog or traffic and even the birds seem chirpier but when there’s a murder in the village, Hattie finds herself curious as to who poisoned Hillary Bishop.  She has her suspicions but can she prove who did it all the while DI Walsh is keeping a very close eye on her?

☆★☆Read all about it☆★☆

Hattie's Adventures #1 ~ The Poisoned Pie paperback proof copy is on its way and should be here by next week, which means it could be with you VERY soon. I know, exciting! I just loved writing this one and it took no time at all. Two weeks in fact! I love all the characters and I'm sure you will too. This is the start of a series so you will get to see more of Hattie, Joe, Charlie and the rest of the residents of Castleford.

Here's the blurb ~

Hattie Carter was in the wrong place at the wrong time. She witnessed something she shouldn’t have and it changed her life overnight.

So, this week, while I was at a loose end (I always feel at a loose end when I finish writing a book; it's that feeling of what to do next), I decided to jump right in and re-edit How to catch a jewel Thief (Maxwell Mysterious #2). Tomorrow I am ordering the paperback proof copy so I am hoping to give you a release date for the summer very soon. I loved re-reading it and catching up with April since she's been back in London.

As the sun sets across London, DI April Maxwell arrives back from three week’s leave but she’s barely through her front door when she receives a phone call to say a top notch jewellers has been robbed in Piccadilly.

Accents and British spelling are used for this book.

Then once I'd done that, I found myself at another loose end. The choices;

1) Write.
2) Read.
3) Write.
4) Watch TV.
5) Write.

I decided to write of course but then it was a case of what? The choices;

1) Finally complete Birthday Cake & Sandy Beaches (Cocktails & Tattoos #5)
2) Get on with Maxwell Mysteries book #3 ~ Death at the chocolate factory
3) Make a start on Hattie's Adventures #2

I went with Maxwell Mysteries book #3. I thought while that's fresh in my mind and because I was already three chapters in, it was my best bet so while I wait for all the proof copies to arrive, that's what I will be doing. I don't have any other details on book #3 yet like the blurb but it's pretty much in the title ~ Death at the chocolate factory. It picks up a couple of weeks after book #2 and you will get to see April do what she does best ~ make a wally of herself whilst solving crime.

I am considering a Q&A time but I'm worried no one will ask me anything. If you think this sounds like a good idea, then send me a question.

Remember for up-to-date info, like my Facebook page.
